"If ye are prepared ye shall not fear" Doctrine and Covenants 38:30
After lots of dreaming and saving, packing and
preparing I am finally about to depart to Israel for the semester!! Do I feel
prepared? Haha… no. But I have been blessed with so much help as I have looked
toward this date. I feel like I know more people who have been able to make
this trip than the average person possibly could. I had a Book of Mormon
instructor who taught at the JC, a Choir Director who had taken several choral groups,
a dear friend who arranged for me to meet students who had recently returned, a
wonderful cousin who went last year who let me pick her brain, a classmate from
Jordan, and friends, coworkers and ward members who had all spent time in
Israel. There were even several devotionals this semester where the Jerusalem
Center program was talked about. I know that it was no accident that these
people were placed into my life with such timely advice and support. Although I
was not able to read all of the books I would have liked to or get everything
into my suitcase that I feel like I need, I know that I have no need to fear. I
know that I was guided to the preparations that were necessary for me to have
previous to going. I am also so grateful for all of the preparations that were
done for us- by the staff, and faculty, and all of the other students.
Jerusalem- here I come!
