Dear Daddy

Dear Daddy,
You would have really enjoyed the adventure that we took today. We got to explore underneath the Center! The building is all raised, so that all of the mechanical and plumbing and such can be accessed from the large open space underneath the building. I am sure that you would have understood it better than me, but I took some pictures of it for you. It made me better appreciate this building. It is beautiful.

Today in our Old Testament class we talked about fatherhood. We went through the story of Abraham. I had never caught it before, but it is really all about Abraham’s quest to do what he needs to do in order to keep his family together for eternity. Abraham came from a very dysfunctional family with a less than ideal father, and was thus driven to find his Heavenly Father. He sought after the priesthood because it's main purpose is to give the power to make covenants that bind families. I am amazed at how much of the scriptures are about bringing families to Christ that I had never realized before. I am so grateful to know that I am part of an eternal family. It was so powerful to talk about Abraham going to sacrifice Isaac, and be able to see Mount Moriah (where the Dome of the Rock now stands) just out of our classroom window, as well as the scene where the ultimate sacrifice that it symbolized took place.
   Love you!
         Annalise
